About us

Making Schiphol more accessible for everyone

The Royal Schiphol Group, the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer, the province of Noord-Holland, Schiphol Area Development Company (SADC), Transport Authority Amsterdam and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management have joined forces to launch the Groot Schiphol Bereikbaar programme – literally, the Accessible Greater Schiphol Area programme.

Together, we are committed to introducing improvements to the infrastructure in the region, promoting a wide range of alternative means of transport, deploying campaigns to promote cycling, and highlighting interesting activities in the area that encourage commuters to travel outside of the rush hour.

We are working closely with businesses and employees in the region because the Greater Schiphol Area has to be an attractive area in which to work, and to remain that way as it grows.

Collaborate with us

Do you have fresh insights and brilliant suggestions to help your employees travel to work? We welcome all ideas. And if two or more companies get involved, Groot Schiphol Bereikbaar may even be able to offer support and co-financing (max. 50%). This is our process:

  1. Conduct interviews to discuss bottlenecks and opportunities
  2. Create an inventory of travel behaviour within the area (a lot of data is already available)
  3. Establish a formal cooperation between parties
  4. Support businesses with communication, behavioural interventions and financial incentives
